Day 1:

Put a 1 litre plastic bottle filled with water in your toilet tank without blocking moving parts. Less water will be used when you flush.

It takes 19 litres of water to flush a toilet once. That's enough to fill 10 big (2 litre) plastic pop bottles!

Day 2:

Have your shower in 5 minutes or less to save even more water.

Time your shower to make sure it is shorter than 5 minutes!

Day 3:

Pack a garbage-less lunch to make less waste. Try using reusable containers.

Why Reduce Waste?

Everything that is made uses raw materials from the earth and depletes natural resources like forests and fossil fuels.

It also takes a lot of energy to produce materials and packaging. Some packaging and garbage never goes away. It sits in a landfill site and may even put toxic waste into land and water.
